Join The Morton Arboretum on Thursday, August 27 from 7-9 p.m., for a very special opportunity: the GoTo 2040 conference – Invent the Future.
To accommodate 2.8 million new residents expected in our region by the year 2040, we urgently need to make some decisions:
1. Should rapid growth moving outward continue?
2. Should we consolidate housing and jobs where infrastructure already exists?
3. Should we emphasize roads or transit – or invest in both?
4. How can we reduce energy use while also strengthening our region’s economy?
It’s not possible to solve everything at once; it’s all about trade-offs. The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) has begun a new “Invent the Future” public-input phase of the GoTo 2040 comprehensive regional planning process.
Please join with fellow concerend citizens on Thursday evening, August 27. You will have the opportunity to express your views on real-world choices that will shape the GoTo 2040 plan – the future of our region! We’ll be using software and keypad polling. Don’t miss this chance to have your say!
Preregistration for the event is not required but will be appreciated. Please contact Joey-Lin Silberhorn at 312-386-8814 or jsilberhorn@cmap.illinois.gov
Sponsored by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning.
Refreshments provided by Harris Bank.
