Do you know when Arbor Day is in Illinois? Do you know who started Arbor Day? What do you plan to do to celebrate Arbor Day?

Arbor Day is traditionally celebrated on the last Friday of April in Illinois. This year that day is Friday, April 30.

The Morton Arboretum has a full schedule of activities for members and the public.

    Take a look!

From the traditional tree planting ceremony to the exclusive members’ Annual Plant Sale, there’s a wide variety of ways to celebrate.

Thanks, I knew that and I knew the folks at the Arboretum would. My point was to see how many people in the general public know. It gets way too little publicity in the news media.

That is so, true, Chris. Here is a link to some 2009 Arbor Day info.
