I have a pink flowering Lilac bush (most probably Miss Canada) of which half the bush is dying. For the past two years one half comes back in spring but the other half does not.
Any suggestions ?

  1. Stephanie Says:

Older lilacs are prone to getting stem cankers, which would cause death/dieback. I’d recommend having a Certified Arborist come out and take a look at it. The Arb has a list of Arborists you can choose from.

Or, you can bring a half dead and half alive sample into the Plant Clinic here at the Arb and they’ll probably be able to diagnose it for you.
