		<description>To start with, plant labels tend not to be permanent. Apart from theft, vandalism, and weathering they have to be maintained. At The Morton Arboterum, for trees we use stainless steel nails with stainless steel springs to hold down the label to the trunk. We don&#039;t have problems with nailing into the tree trunk. As the trunk grows outward, the nail will have to pulled out a little every 2-3 years. Otherwise the nail will eventually be grown over by the expanding trunk. So, someone will have to be responsible for maintenance. Here are some websites that I refer people to for sources of labels like ours:
