Looking to find out what this tree is, growing in my garden. It has heart shaped leaves that are now turning golden. They are wider than long with a central vein and smaller ones growing from it. The leaves are finely sawtoothed along the sides and not so much on the base. They have a very persistant and pleasant smell when cut. The tree’s shape is somewhat like a poplar. My gardener couldn’t put a name to it so it is a bit of a mystery. As you can see, I live in Rome, Italy. Any comments would help.
